As function and form of Homebush area has radically changed over time, a radical design seemed fit to depict the post-Olympic atmosphere, which attempts to tie sports, business, education and residents together, but looses itself in the vastness and disconnecting borders of the site. Four columns of learning – math, science, art and humanity – became the base of the educational philosophy as well as the structural base for the entire building that both sits and levitates in the landscape. Establishing a strict architectural and interacting program in the buildings hierarchy and yet blending the very zones that fragmentizes the area.
